Age  3 Creative Movement

Girls: Leotard, tights, pink Ballet shoes (skirts optional).
Boys: T-shirt, sweats, black Ballet shoes.

Age 4 – 6 Tap/Jazz

Girls: Any dancewear. Jazz pants and dance top, skirted leotard and tights, biketard.
Boys: T-shirt, sweats, black Ballet shoes.

Tumbling (all ages)

Girls: Leotard with lycra shorts or biketard, hair in a ponytail.
Boys:
Fitted T-shirt, fitted shorts.

Age 7 – 18 Ballet

All Girls: Pink Ballet shoes. Beginners must wear full sole shoes to improve foot development – no more than ¼” growth room. Intermediate and advanced dancers may wear split soles. Teen program shoes fitted. No skirts or warm-ups in class; only nude, clear strap bras under leotards. Hair must be in a high bun with a hair net over it and absolutely no jewelry except for stud earrings or very small hoops. Recommended shoes: Bloch SO205 or 208. Recommended tights: Capezio #9 in Classic Light Pink.
Leotards:
Beg. 7 – 11: Motionwear Style #2105, Color: Light Blue
Int. 8 – 11: Motionwear Style #2105, Color: Dark Blue
Int./Adv. 8 – 11: Motionwear Style #2105, Color: Burgundy
Adv. 9 – 12: Motionwear Style #2105, Color: Purple
Int. Teen 1: Motionwear Style #2515, Color: Dark Blue
Int. Teen 2: Motionwear Style #2515, Color: Burgundy
Adv. Teen: ANY STYLE LEOTARD (no halters), Color: Black
ALL POINTE CLASSES: Mirella Style #207L2 dress, Color: White
Advanced Adult Ballet:
Ballet dancewear, ballet shoes required, warm-ups encouraged and hair up.
All Boys:
7198 or 7207 top in White and 7199 or 7205 bottoms in black. White Bloch full sole ballet shoes until 13 years old and then split sole shoes thereafter. Male dancers 10 years and older required to wear nude dance belt.

Age 7+ Jazz, Tap and Hip-Hop

Jazz: Dancewear. Any Jazz shoes are okay except for tennis shoes. In the Summer Showcase, dancers will wear either black Jazz shoes or some kind of Lyrical shoe (dance paw, sandal, etc.). Type of shoes will depend on dance learned. Beginners should start in Jazz shoes. Split sole is preferred. All intermediate and advanced dancers should carry knee pads in their dance bags at all times. Absolutely no baggy T-shirts or street clothes.
Tap:
Dancewear. Black Tap shoes. Performing Company should have shoes that tie.
Hip-Hop:
Baggy loose clothing. Absolutely no tight shorts or sports bras. Tennis shoes or black Hip-Hop dance shoes – No bare feet, no jeans. Hat or jacket optional.

Yoga

Yoga mat required.  Wear clothes you can move in.  Hair out of face.

Absolutely no jeans in any class.


Enforcement: Dancers not attired appropriately will receive a reminder call from the office. Older dancers may also be reminded in class by the instructor. If a problem persists, especially in ballet, the student will not be allowed to dance until they arrive in the correct attire with their hair up. The dance uniform is part of the disciplined structure and culture of dance and every serious studio has a strict one.
